I'm a reader.
I even read about reading (hello, NY Times Book Review).
I read all year long, but aah the bliss of reading on a summer day, at the beach, by a pool, in a hammock, in a hot tub (my favorite), or inside with AC blasting.
What's your ideal reading situation?
I tend to have several books going simultaneously: a novel(s) so I can live in someone else's world, a professional development book(s) so I can continue to improve as a coach, and lately, some poetry, which I never thought I'd get into as much as I have.
Some good ones I'm in the middle of or just finished reading:
by Gabriella Rosen Kellerman, Martin E. P. Seligman, et al. Seligman practically invented positive psychology and this book looks at the essential skills needed to navigate the whitewater of life and work in our future.
Move Up or Move On by Angela Lane and Sergey Grobatov. This highly readable and useful book from a knowledgeable team of global talent professionals who know their stuff!
Go as a River, a novel by Shelley Read. A beautiful story about resilience with the message to approach hardships and obstacles as a river would.
There There, a novel by Tommy Orange. A searing and stunningly written story about 12 'urban' Native Americans from different Native communities traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow, and how they are connected to the events that follow.
If I Die Before You Wake by Steven Lewis. Meditations on mortality by a terrific poet, also my friend, Steven Lewis.
