Career Coaching

  CAREER COACHING

Career Change: Transition from one career to another; re-launch your career; or re-enter the workforce.

Most people go about a career change backwards and get stuck. It often goes something like this:

"I am good at these things..., I like these things... and my (spouse, teacher, best friend, taxi driver) says I should look into career X. I want something new, but I don't want to throw away all of the old, and I don't think I could ever do X,Y, & Z because I haven't yet, and anyway, I wasn't good at this when I was___ years old. So, career B, or career L, or job Q? None of them seem right. Why can't I head toward any of these, what am I missing?"

Here's where career coaching expertise can help. Instead of starting with a job name and trying to fit you into it, we'll start with

you. We'll begin with exploring the elements of your ideal career; those aspects of your self, your strengths   that use what you want (or forgot you have!) plus elements about work that are essential to you. From there we'll create a plan of action and support for you to stay with it. This includes job search support as needed (see below).

The first step is knowing who you are so you can exude confidence as you articulate your value.

"I have no doubt that our work together helped me identify this opportunity, have the confidence to go for it, and the thoughtfulness of approach needed to win it. So, thank you!! It feels like I’m moving into the life I’d hoped for when we spoke over the summer - here’s to 2018!" - Leon Digard

"I am in a place where I believe in myself and my abilities and have a clear path and Judy has been a huge asset in getting me there. Now I know it's possible to make a real difference, which is what I've always wanted."

- Cristina Smith

Job Search, a.k.a, The Job Hunt...

You’re searching for that next job. The job that fits you. The one that meets your criteria for what you need to thrive. Perhaps you’ve relocated or are in the process of making a geographical move. You’ve decided to shift careers, or you’ve been laid off,  it’s time to transfer your skills to a new company, or you're a new college graduate. Whatever your reasons for your search, I can help you get to your “right” job.

I  support your job search in several areas: job market research to target industries and specific jobs in your area; application and professional presentation material (resume, cover letters, LinkedIn); interview preparation; salary negotiation; self-confidence building; new skills acquisition.

If you want to know more or have other questions I'd be delighted to speak with you personally.
